Kolkata. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered the Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar to appear in front of the CBI on the investigation of the Saradha scam. Kumar will have to make himself present in the CBI office in Shillong. The court also made it clear that Rajiv would not be arrested now.
Mamata has termed the order of the court as a victory of the constitution.
On Sunday, the CBI team had reached Kolkata to interrogate Rajiv. The Kolkata Police had stopped the CBI from doing so. Mamta Banerjee had sat on the dharna in protest. Then the CBI had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the matter. The next hearing will be on February 20.
