The probe agency, Enforcement Directorate (ED), is likely to make Rajeev Saxena an approver in the AugustaWestland case. Saxena was recently extradited from Dubai. Sources have told media that Saxena has the knowledge of bribes that were paid to Indian counterparts, including the shell company created to route the bribe money in the AgustaWestland case.
ED is hopeful that Rajeev Saxena will disclose vital details on the role of Christian Michel and Gautam Khaitan who are accused in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal.
The ED is negotiating with Rajeev Saxena to turn into a witness in the case. The ED believes that Saxena also has information on the bribe that was paid to certain politicians in India, besides officials of the Indian Air Force and bureaucrats.
Three of Rajiv Saxena’s companies–Intersellar Technologies (Mauritius), UHY Saxena (Dubai) and Matrix Holding (Dubai)received received kickbacks from Gordian Sarl (Tunisia) and IDS Technologies (Tunisia), firms that were set up by AgustaWestland accused Gautam Khaitan.
Middlemen Carlo Gerosa and Guido Haschke were directors in this firm.
The ED claims that Saxena, along with Khaitan and Michel, have full knowledge about the chain of bribes that were paid.
ED had earlier told the Patiala House Court in Delhi that Saxena was cooperating and helping establish the chain of bribes which were paid to defence officials and politicians.
