In December 2018, stones were thrown on Train18, the fastest train in the country, on Delhi-Agra route while on trial run.
Yesterday unknown people threw stones at the Train at Delhi-Lahori Gate post again. Railway officials said that this caused a window of a coach to be broken. According to the Ministry of Railways, on Saturday morning 6.35 am, the train was sent from Delhi to Varanasi for a trial run. It reached Varanasi at 2.30 pm before the scheduled time.
This semi-high speed train has been named Vande Bharat Express, which will replace the 30-year-old Shatabdi Express. This train built in India runs at a speed of 160 km / hour between Delhi and Varanasi. However, in the trial run on December 2, it had recorded a record speed of 180 km / h in the Kota-Sawai Madhopur section.
According to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, this train has been prepared in Chennai’s coach factory in 18 months at the cost of 97 crore. There are 16 coaches, fully air-conditioned, and engine-free train. Its seats can rotate to 360 degrees.
