Delhi to Istanbul flights

India’s leading no-frills airline IndiGo has formally announced cheap, non-stop flights from Delhi to Istanbul starting 20 March 2019. The airline is offering fares for less than Rs 24,000 through the summer.

IndiGo, India’s most successful airline, becomes the first Indian airline to fly to Turkey directly in 7 hrs, will operate daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Istanbul effective March 20, with Airbus A321 aircraft.

IndiGo flight 6E0011 will leave Delhi at 13.40 hours, arriving in Istanbul at 18.10 hours. The return flight, 6E0012 will depart Istanbul at 19.45 hours and land in Delhi at 04.15 hours the next morning.

The airline has opened bookings for the flight and it is offering promotional fare starting at Rs 23,999, under the “Saver” class, which gets you 30kg check-in baggage and 7kg hand baggage allowance.

“It is our privilege to be the first Indian carrier to fly into Turkey. Istanbul is one the most attractive tourist cities in the world and the gateway from Asia into Europe,” William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said in a company statement on Friday.

The budget passenger carrier IndiGo has been eyeing the European market for a while. Istanbul will now become its 16th international destination. Late last year, it signed a code-share agreement with Turkey’s flag carrier Turkish Airways. Once the agreement kicks in, you can book a “6E” flight to nearly 20 European destinations. The flights will be operated by Turkish Airways through Istanbul. Conversely, visitors to India will be able to book “TK” flights to all the connecting flights within India through IndiGo. The codeshare provides not just an ease of booking, but also other benefits that come from a single PNR.
